About Verona

How to arrive in Verona?
  • The Verona Villafranca Airport is located 15 Km outside Verona and operates regular flights from many european cities, especially during the summer when seasonal connections come into effect. Please check here for all possible connections. From the airport, a shuttle bus operates regular trips (every 20 minutes) to the main train station Verona Porta Nuova.
  • The airport of Milan Malpensa is the largest airport with the most international and intercontinental connections in the vicinity of Verona. It is located in the outskirts of Milan and, to reach Verona, one must take a train to "Milano Centrale" (approximately 50 minutes journey), the central station in Milan, and then change to a direct connection to Verona (approximately, 90 minutes journey). Please check the website of Trenitalia for details on those connections.
  • Another convenient airport to arrive in Verona is the Venice Airport. A short bus ride (20 minutes) from the airport to the station "Venezia-Mestre" will allow you to take a direct train to Verona (approximately 1 hour journey). Again, please check Trenitalia for details.
  • Other airports such as the Bergamo Airport and the Bologna Airport are also not far away.
  • Finally, there are direct train connections from Munich to Verona every day, taking a scenic route through the Alps (approximately 5 hours and a half journey). For details, we refer to Deutsche Bahn.
How to find the conference venue?

The talks will take place at

Chiostro Santa Maria delle Vittorie, University of Verona
Lungadige Porta Vittoria, 41
37129 Verona VR

The cloister is visible on the map linked above. It is within easy walking reach from the city centre. Alternatively, there are many buses passing nearby the venue and stopping in front of the church of San Fermo (see this map for the remaining itinerary), which is the second bus stop after Piazza Bra (where the Arena is located). Those staying in the area of Hotel Scalzi or Hotel Firenze, may take buses number 11, 12 or 13 from the bus stop at via Giberti; those staying closer to Hotel Trieste (or also Hotel Firenze) may take either buses number 51 and 510 in Corso Porta Nuova (in the direction of the city centre, i.e., away from the train station) or the buses 11, 12 or 13 at the bus stop in via della Valverde or in Piazza Bra.
